The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Kasper Viskens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dimitri Huijbreghts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Maley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th match minute, Esquirla FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregorie De Mees to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikolay Ananichev in the 8th minute of play forced Esquirla FC's goalkeeper Dimitri Huijbreghts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Igor Maley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Dimitri Huijbreghts was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Esquirla FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jerome Helssen hit a great ball. Esquirla FC's Dimitri Huijbreghts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikolay Ananichev in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, STORM's Nikolay Kosunov got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 21st match minute, Esquirla FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé van Beek to maneuver through the defense. STORM's Ruslan Gavrilenkov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save STORM from getting a goal against them. In the 36th minute Nikolay Kosunov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimitri Huijbreghts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dimitri Huijbreghts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikolay Ananichev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Nikolay Kosunov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The STORM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Esquirla FC's Kasper Viskens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ruslan Gavrilenkov. That made the score 1-2 after 43 minutes of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kasper Viskens to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Igor Maley notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Esquirla FC's Dimitri Huijbreghts. Dimitri Huijbreghts was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dimitri Huijbreghts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vitaliy Koirovich in the 59th minute. STORM's Vitaliy Koirovich managed to work through Esquirla FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Vitaliy Koirovich dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksandr Schukin in the 61st minute of play forced Esquirla FC's goalkeeper Dimitri Huijbreghts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wes Goons's late challenge caught a STORM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wes Goons helped the player get up and apologised. Wes Goons kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. A collision led to STORM getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Rostislav Zaitsev hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, STORM's goal looked a bit too open when Vic de Reyck came free, but Ruslan Gavrilenkov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the game, Nikolay Ananichev recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dimitri Huijbreghts. Nikolay Ananichev showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Vitaliy Koirovich kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dimitri Huijbreghts. That made the score 1-5 in the 72 minute of play. With a little luck, Esquirla FC's Dimitri Huijbreghts got control of the ball when Vitaliy Koirovich tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute Philippe-Arnaud Van den Plas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruslan Gavrilenkov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksandr Schukin in the 84th minute of play forced Esquirla FC's goalkeeper Dimitri Huijbreghts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esquirla FC's Kasper Viskens got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dimitri Huijbreghts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikolay Ananichev in the 92nd minute of the match. STORM's Ruslan Gavrilenkov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasper Viskens in the 95th minute of play. A collision led to STORM getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Aleksey Klinkovskiy hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded STORM left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Esquirla FC.
