The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Nikolay Ananichev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Douglas Schoenmaekers was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nikolay Kosunov showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, FC Bruges's goalkeeper Douglas Schoenmaekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nikolay Ananichev. 20 minutes into the match, FC Bruges's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksandr Schukin came free, but Douglas Schoenmaekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nikolay Kosunov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Schoenmaekers having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Aleksandr Schukin took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Douglas Schoenmaekers to make any attempt to save it. Douglas Schoenmaekers made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Nikolay Kosunov sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Nikolay Kosunov kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Douglas Schoenmaekers. That made the score 4-0 in the 43 minute of play. STORM made a substitution. Matvey Mikhailov replaced Valentin Vorobiev.

After a defensive mix-up in FC Bruges's zone, Nikolay Ananichev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Schoenmaekers came out of the goal and Nikolay Ananichev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitaliy Koirovich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Douglas Schoenmaekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the FC Bruges defense, Nikolay Ananichev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Douglas Schoenmaekers. The FC Bruges fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Douglas Schoenmaekers should have stopped the shot. Yaroslav Gurevich kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. FC Bruges's Herman Bormans got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 75 minutes of play, STORM's Nikolay Ananichev made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Douglas Schoenmaekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, STORM's Nikolay Ananichev got a free kick in the 77th minute. After 78 played minutes STORM got a freekick which was hit by Nikolay Ananichev. In the 83rd minute, Nikolay Ananichev made a precise shot to the right of Douglas Schoenmaekers. FC Bruges's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. FC Bruges's Douglas Schoenmaekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitaliy Koirovich in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute Nikolay Ananichev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Schoenmaekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Douglas Schoenmaekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitaliy Koirovich in the 93rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Bruges's Herman Bormans got a free kick in the 94th minute.
