Kristiaan Van de Velde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yancho Dzhongarski, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The supporters of de belletrekkers booed when FC CSKA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mincho Búlgarov didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, de belletrekkers's Oleg Ubinov threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edgard Armentier, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Yancho Dzhongarski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristiaan Van de Velde having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Yancho Dzhongarski to strike the kick off in the second half. de belletrekkers were furious when Timmy Simons was red carded, 50 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 50 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for de belletrekkers! In the 54th match minute, de belletrekkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer de Sousa to maneuver through the defense.
