Edwin Bulder hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Violet Skachkov in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kees Veentjer saved Verwachting from getting behind. When FC Old Dogs United's Stayko Pavlikyanov in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Verwachting's goalie prevented a goal. Verwachting's Hendrik Hoekstra quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gabriel Nanev, made in the 13th minute of the game. Anastas Merazchiev made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Theo Zoontjens sent off a good shot on target. Anastas Merazchiev was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ruud Geels showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Gabriel Nanev in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Verwachting's Hendrik Hoekstra. 27 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goal looked a bit too open when Stayko Pavlikyanov came free, but Kees Veentjer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ruud Geels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Han Ostermann got a free kick in the 34th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oscar Vaalman during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes Verwachting got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Vaalman. In the 39th minute of the match FC Old Dogs United got a corner. Verwachting's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antonio Di Fabrizio ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led FC Old Dogs United's Antonio Di Fabrizio to fire away a dangerous shot which Kees Veentjer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruud Geels stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kees Veentjer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Violet Skachkov in the 50th minute of play. Bernardino Silvino kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goal looked a bit too open when Stayko Pavlikyanov came free, but Kees Veentjer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Verwachting booed when FC Old Dogs United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kees Veentjer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stayko Pavlikyanov in the 84th minute of play. Kees Veentjer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stayko Pavlikyanov in the 87th minute of the match. Yane Donkovski hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When Antonio Di Fabrizio fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Old Dogs United's protests and gave Antonio Di Fabrizio a yellow card for diving instead. 94 minutes into the match, Ruud Geels had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anastas Merazchiev. FC Old Dogs United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruud Geels was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Old Dogs United players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Verwachting.
