Otto Jorna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reinier Polak went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to ASV Muziekwijk's Frits Klasens getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Benoit Lukas kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Thomas Hoogsteen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Hinnen, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute Mariano Bombarda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lew Maurer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Frits Klasens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adriano Bollhalder took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Thomas Hoogsteen. ASV Muziekwijk's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thomas Hoogsteen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joshua Anderhub in the 26th minute of play. The ASV Muziekwijk fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when ASV Muziekwijk's Reinier Polak looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 35 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lew Maurer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steve Spoel. Thomas Hoogsteen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Hinnen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 39 minutes of play, FC Wil 1900's Karim Gerber made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomas Hoogsteen was left in no man's land by his defense there! 44 minutes into the match, Reinier Polak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lew Maurer. FC Wil 1900's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reinier Polak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 53 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Adam Hinnen. ASV Muziekwijk's Thomas Hoogsteen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joshua Anderhub in the 56th minute of play. After 68 minutes, Steve Spoel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ASV Muziekwijk and the FC Wil 1900 players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karim Gerber got free with Thomas Hoogsteen in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Cirella to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joshua Anderhub in the 80th minute of play forced ASV Muziekwijk's goalkeeper Thomas Hoogsteen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joshua Anderhub's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomas Hoogsteen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Lari Fari hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Lew Maurer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steve Spoel in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Wil 1900 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
