An unexpectedly hard shot by Kidlat Cabanit in the 22nd minute of play forced Flying Dutch's goalkeeper Luís Paulo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Caco Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd match minute, EDI MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Leão to maneuver through the defense. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niceto Xacintu was the one to do the kick off. Niceto Xacintu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdo de Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niceto Xacintu in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdo de Queirós saved EDI MZB from getting behind. In the 57th minute, Caco Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st minute of the match, Kidlat Cabanit got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luís Paulo Romero was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 64th match minute, EDI MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Flying Dutch's Luís Paulo Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Flying Dutch from getting a goal against them. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Flying Dutch's goalie and right to Aníbal Velasco. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Flying Dutch's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Paulo Renato Cordeiro fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flying Dutch's protests and gave Paulo Renato Cordeiro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Flying Dutch getting a freekick after 97 minutes play.
