The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Vargas in the 4th minute of play forced Divina Comédia FC's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the game, Vito Arruda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Divina Comédia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Socanelas FC the free kick. In the 5th match minute, Divina Comédia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vito Arruda to maneuver through the defense. If Pedrão Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 11 minutes of play, Divina Comédia FC's Dedê Cerezo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinei Oliveira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dorian Valladares charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorian Valladares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Pedrão Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Divina Comédia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão Paraense couldn't finish the play. Divina Comédia FC's Pedrão Paraense got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Eduardo Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After 30th play minutes Aloísio Chulapa shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Claudinei Oliveira and just under the crossbar into goal. 34 minutes into the match, Divina Comédia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Vargas came free, but Rogério Ceni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinei Oliveira was a little too slow when Dedê Cerezo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 3-0. In the 43rd play minute Pedrão Paraense came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Claudinei Oliveira. 4-0. In the 46th minute, Doni Paiva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Socanelas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1.

Socanelas FC's Cléberson Bittencourt was substituted for Doni Paiva. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raphael Vargas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dedê Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Oliveira having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diego Baptista during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aloísio Chulapa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Oliveira having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Pedrão Paraense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Claudinei Oliveira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Aloísio Chulapa fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Divina Comédia FC's protests and gave Aloísio Chulapa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th match minute, Socanelas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raphael Vargas to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Dedê Cerezo notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Socanelas FC's Claudinei Oliveira. Claudinei Oliveira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Paraense in the 89th minute of play forced Socanelas FC's goalkeeper Claudinei Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Aloísio Chulapa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claudinei Oliveira was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Socanelas FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
