Cristian Hoffmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Hoffmann ran back to his position shaking his head. Telmo Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Hoffmann in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Neves in the 14th minute of play forced E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper Telmo Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Pendotiba booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphael de Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th match minute, E.C 2 Janeiro RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertinho Guedes to maneuver through the defense. Pendotiba's Ricardinho Trigo got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pendotiba's attentive Naldo Hermes managed to snatch the ball when Tostão Nunes made a throw-in in the 30th minute of the game. Naldo Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 minutes, Cristian Hoffmann made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Hoffmann in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Madureira saved E.C 2 Janeiro RS from getting behind. Telmo Madureira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pendotiba. If Norberto Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Humberto Paes to make the kick off. Telmo Madureira was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Cristian Hoffmann capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Hoffmann really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Telmo Madureira stood somewhat misplaced when Cristian Hoffmann came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 55 minute. If Cristian Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardinho Trigo struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Telmo Madureira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pendotiba. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Telmo Madureira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 75th minute, Naldo Hermes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of E.C 2 Janeiro RS booed when Pendotiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. The E.C 2 Janeiro RS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pendotiba were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
