Spectators: 154 (Terracing: 116, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dudu Borges got the match started through his kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Dudu Borges kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sílvio Zonta. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Nando de Alcântara got a free kick in the 6th minute. Catugi FC's Folke Österlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Paulo França in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Tiaguinho Fernandez got a free kick in the 13th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Dudu Borges notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of TAQUARI FC's Sílvio Zonta. Sílvio Zonta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Tiaguinho Fernandez fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catugi FC's protests and gave Tiaguinho Fernandez a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiaguinho Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when TAQUARI FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Dudu Borges sped through TAQUARI FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sílvio Zonta. Sílvio Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Borges in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Catugi FC's zone, Luís Paulo França stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Folke Österlund came out of the goal and Luís Paulo França tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nando de Alcântara in the 29th minute of play forced TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Sílvio Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murillo Perez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Folke Österlund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. If Luís Paulo França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of TAQUARI FC booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Catugi FC's Folke Österlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Paulo França in the 36th minute of play. Folke Österlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Paulo França in the 38th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Valdir Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Reginaldo Veiga from long distance, 47 minutes into the match, got Sílvio Zonta's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Paulo França stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sílvio Zonta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nando de Alcântara went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the TAQUARI FC defense, Dudu Borges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sílvio Zonta. The TAQUARI FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sílvio Zonta should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Valdir Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. TAQUARI FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdir Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Folke Österlund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Catugi FC's Folke Österlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Paulo França in the 66th minute of play. Josué Brito's late challenge caught a Catugi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josué Brito helped the player get up and apologised. Josué Brito hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute of the match Catugi FC got a corner. TAQUARI FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tiaguinho Fernandez ran over to the corner to take the kick. 84 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo França came free, but Folke Österlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. TAQUARI FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zézinho Freire in the 86th minute. A nice corner shot did that Zézinho Freire got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Folke Österlund quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Hernani Travassos hit a great ball.
