Gustavo Cerezo charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Cerezo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Família Ressaca MZ booed when Xurupita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Cerezo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Família Ressaca MZ's zone, Eurico Dante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romeu Donato came out of the goal and Eurico Dante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastião Barros during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Dante in the 79th minute of play forced Família Ressaca MZ's goalkeeper Romeu Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fábio Lopez in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hílton Costa saved Xurupita FC from getting behind. Família Ressaca MZ's Romeu Donato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Linhares in the 87th minute of play. Eliseu Linhares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Fábio Lopez in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hílton Costa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The Xurupita FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Família Ressaca MZ's performance. The match ended with a win for Família Ressaca MZ.
