After 6 played minutes Xurupita FC got a freekick which was hit by Belmiro Paraíba. In the 14th minute, José Paulo Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haroldo Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Eurico Dante, 15 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Galo do Cerrado's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Paraíba came free, but Alfredinho Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 played minutes Xurupita FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Meirelles. Alfredinho Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, Xurupita FC's Hílton Costa got control of the ball when Manuel Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alfredinho Andrade came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Xurupita FC's Eurico Dante. But to his dismay, Eurico Dante quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 31 minutes into the match, Galo do Cerrado's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Paraíba came free, but Alfredinho Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eurico Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cássio Matorin was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Galo do Cerrado's Haroldo Peixoto got a free kick in the 51st minute. The supporters of Xurupita FC booed when Galo do Cerrado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haroldo Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseu Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredinho Andrade having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Galo do Cerrado's goalkeeper Alfredinho Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastião Barros. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Dante in the 59th minute of play forced Galo do Cerrado's goalkeeper Alfredinho Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Eliseu Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xurupita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Linhares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredinho Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Galo do Cerrado defense, Eliseu Linhares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredinho Andrade. The Galo do Cerrado fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredinho Andrade should have stopped the shot. Alfredinho Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belmiro Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 73 minutes into the match, Galo do Cerrado's goal looked a bit too open when Eurico Dante came free, but Alfredinho Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xurupita FC's Hílton Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Matorin in the 76th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Belmiro Paraíba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredinho Andrade was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Xurupita FC's Nico Abraão was substituted for Gustavo Cerezo. José Carlos Vieira hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Galo do Cerrado's Alfredinho Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belmiro Paraíba in the 83rd minute of play.
