With an all-out effort, Inter Gala's Flávio Batista threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Agostinho Domingues, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 4 minutes in the game, Agostinho Domingues dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Artur Saraiva was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 9 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Inter Gala:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itajaí Football Club:s goal. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Itajaí Football Club. Hélio Goiano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Luís Eduardo Valle. 0-1. 14 minutes into the game, Amílton dos Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itajaí Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter Gala the free kick. Amílton dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Inter Gala's Agostinho Domingues nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flávio Batista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Luís Eduardo Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Percy Baptista received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Flávio Batista came out and tried to block the shot, but Percy Baptista slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 29th minute. Luís Eduardo Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 34 minutes Inter Gala's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hélio Goiano who took care of the corner kick. Jailson de Senna was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. If Manuel Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélio Goiano hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Agostinho Domingues hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Jailson de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Eduardo Valle having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Inter Gala's Sérgio Matos got a free kick in the 44th minute. Conrado Miranda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Percy Baptista made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Percy Baptista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter Gala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itajaí Football Club the free kick. The supporters of Itajaí Football Club booed when Inter Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Inter Gala's Luís Eduardo Valle got control of the ball when Luís Paulo de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 55th minute, Percy Baptista made a precise shot to the right of Flávio Batista. Itajaí Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. With a little luck, Inter Gala's Luís Eduardo Valle got control of the ball when Amílton dos Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Flávio Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Baptista in the 69th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amílton dos Santos in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Eduardo Valle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 76th minute Manuel Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Inter Gala's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson de Senna came free, but Luís Eduardo Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flávio Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho Domingues in the 86th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Goiano. Hélio Goiano hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Inter Gala's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
