The Belotaurus FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Carlos Alberto Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Reis in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio Machado saved Capivara FC from getting behind. 13 minutes into the game, Capivara FC's Jaime Hermes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Alberto Arce made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, José Augusto Fontes put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Célio Machado. In the 21st match minute, Capivara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Botelho to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Augusto Fontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, Capivara FC's Edvaldo Leal made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Alberto Arce was left in no man's land by his defense there! 57 minutes into the match, José Augusto Fontes notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Capivara FC's Célio Machado. Célio Machado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Belotaurus FC booed when Capivara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geraldo Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Célio Machado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, José Augusto Fontes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Célio Machado. Capivara FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Augusto Fontes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-2. Jaime Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute José Augusto Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Capivara FC's Edvaldo Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Célio Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 88 played minutes Capivara FC got a freekick which was hit by Denílson Vander. 89 minutes into the match, Capivara FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Fontes came free, but Célio Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Célio Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Augusto Fontes in the 90th minute of the match.
