Eduardo de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Reis in the 9th minute of the match. Dráuzio Queiroz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo de Souza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Alberto Reis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio Papão de WC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Renato Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Alberto Reis sped through 27 de Mayo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eduardo de Souza. After 30 played minutes 27 de Mayo got a freekick which was hit by Raí Bertassi. The Grêmio Papão de WC fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Grêmio Papão de WC's Alberto Reis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Clemente Castro struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Moisés da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 27 de Mayo. In the 42nd minute, Dráuzio Queiroz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eduardo de Souza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hílton Cardoso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Norberto Quadros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eduardo de Souza, 0-5. After 56 played minutes 27 de Mayo got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano Albuquerque. In the 59th minute, Raí Paraibano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The 27 de Mayo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Eduardo de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dadá Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 96th minute, Norberto Quadros made a precise shot to the right of Eduardo de Souza. 27 de Mayo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. When the final whistle sounded Grêmio Papão de WC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than 27 de Mayo.
