In the 18th minute André Luís Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Pedro Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amílton Motta was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The referee showed Amílton Motta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Botafogo AP getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. After 40 minutes, Frank Goiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo AP and the Comanche EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Botafogo AP fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Chiquinho Vasconcelos had in the 89thth minute some difficulties stopping Zé Carlos Schmidt's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 89th minute, Zé Carlos Schmidt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chiquinho Vasconcelos was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-1. 97 minutes into the match, Abelardo Sena notched a goal, 8-1, to the right of Botafogo AP's Chiquinho Vasconcelos. Chiquinho Vasconcelos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Botafogo AP's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
