Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Richard Ferreira started the match with the kick off. André Luís Trigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Gil de Medeiros made a huge save. In the 7th minute Richard Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Ferreira in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chiquinho Vasconcelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 14 minutes into the match, André Luís Trigo notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Nautilus's Gil de Medeiros. Gil de Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When André Luís Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Botafogo AP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luís Trigo couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Amílton Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo AP's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílton Motta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, André Luís Trigo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gil de Medeiros, 2-0. Gil de Medeiros came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Botafogo AP's André Luís Trigo. But to his dismay, André Luís Trigo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 30 minutes into the match, Clemente Lopes notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Nautilus's Gil de Medeiros. Gil de Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chiquinho Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. André Luís Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clemente Lopes hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. If Eriberto Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. André Luís Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Gil de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Luís Trigo to make the kick off. After 58 minutes, Dorian Meireles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nautilus and the Botafogo AP players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Nautilus getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Dorian Meireles hit a great ball. When Leonardo Furtado fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nautilus's protests and gave Leonardo Furtado a yellow card for diving instead. Botafogo AP made a substitution. Frank Goiano replaced José Pedro Coelho. The supporters of Botafogo AP booed when Nautilus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes, Botafogo AP's Clóvis das Neves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gil de Medeiros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Botafogo AP reached it. Gil de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Trigo in the 66th minute of play. When Amílton Motta fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Botafogo AP's protests and gave Amílton Motta a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Amílton Motta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Luís Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere. Botafogo AP made a substitution. Mané Souza replaced Clóvis das Neves. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Ferreira got free with Chiquinho Vasconcelos in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gil de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Luís Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. A collision led to Nautilus getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Tarcisio Favoretto hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Nautilus's zone, André Luís Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil de Medeiros came out of the goal and André Luís Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Botafogo AP's Humberto Maia was substituted for André Luís Trigo. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Eriberto Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo AP's supporters rose to their feet, but Eriberto Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 89th minute, Humberto Maia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere.
