André Luiz Esteves started the match with the kick off. Maurinho Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Paulo Sousa in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Minuim SS booed when Joinville Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavinho Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, César Sanches ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wellington Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Minuim SS's Maurinho Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Sousa in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Joinville Esporte Clube's Ismael Loyola seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ismael Loyola the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Joinville Esporte Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ismael Loyola had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Joinville Esporte Clube! Maurinho Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Paulo Sousa in the 27th minute of play. José Paulo Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Deivid Vaz fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Joinville Esporte Clube's protests and gave Deivid Vaz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid Vaz to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Minuim SS's goalkeeper Maurinho Corrêa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Deivid Vaz. After 38 minutes, Fausto Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Joinville Esporte Clube and the Minuim SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fausto Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Elano Sarmento hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. André Luiz Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Wellington Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aílton Donato in the 46th minute of play. Minuim SS's Maurinho Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deivid Vaz in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Maurinho Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Fausto Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aílton Donato in the 60th minute of play forced Joinville Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Wellington Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, José Paulo Sousa made a precise shot to the right of Maurinho Corrêa. Minuim SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Maurinho Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Aguiar in the 69th minute of the match. If Deivid Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Minuim SS's Betão Faria got a free kick in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Minuim SS getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Reynaldo Cabral hit a great ball. In the 78th minute Deivid Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute Arthur Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If José Paulo Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurinho Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Aguiar in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Aguiar in the 88th minute of play forced Minuim SS's goalkeeper Maurinho Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joinville Esporte Clube's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
