Giovani de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dadá da Costa in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Betinho Severo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Zé Paulo Bezerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Portuguesa:s Giovani de Amaral showed great skill when he stopped Egídio Garcia:s penalty. Giovani de Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aílton de Queirós in the 16th minute. After some careless play in the Premier FC defense, Betinho Severo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Paulo Bezerra. The Premier FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Paulo Bezerra should have stopped the shot. Betinho Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Paulo Bezerra having to interfere. Pedro Augusto de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Premier FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Egídio Garcia hit a great ball. If Betinho Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Betinho Severo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Afonsinho Mattos scored 0-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Paulo Bezerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Afonsinho Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Portuguesa's Giovani de Amaral got control of the ball when Afonsinho Paiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46th minute, Betinho Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Portuguesa's Afonsinho Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Premier FC's Rubens Maia got a free kick in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Premier FC's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Bezerra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Betinho Severo. After a defensive mix-up in Premier FC's zone, Betinho Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Paulo Bezerra came out of the goal and Betinho Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dadá da Costa in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giovani de Amaral saved Portuguesa from getting behind. 85 minutes into the game, Betinho Severo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Zé Paulo Bezerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute, Yuri de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Paulo Bezerra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Betinho Severo in the 96th minute. When the final whistle sounded Portuguesa left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Premier FC.
