Portuguesa's Giovani de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Munhoz in the 8th minute of play. Giovani de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonsinho Munhoz in the 11th minute of play. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Joinville United - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luan de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute of the match, Afonsinho Munhoz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Giovani de Amaral saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Afonsinho Munhoz struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Giovani de Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joinville United - FSCMZ. Gugu Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani de Amaral having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match, Reinaldo Barral got a very nice opportunity to score, but Giovani de Amaral was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Charles Arantes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Giovani de Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafim Paraíba went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 54 minutes into the game, Portuguesa's Betinho Severo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cauan Arce made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Joinville United - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robinho Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cauan Arce was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Charles Arantes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 74 minute of play. Portuguesa played a much better game than Joinville United - FSCMZ and deserved their victory. The Joinville United - FSCMZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
