Casimiro Ignatius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernandinho Urbano's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Corinthians's Romeu Souto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qu Wei in the 12th minute of play. Romeu Souto made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Rony Dudu sent off a good shot on target. 15 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goalkeeper Romeu Souto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rony Dudu. In the 17th minute, one of Corinthians:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Corinthians. Corinthians:s Romeu Souto showed great skill when he stopped Rony Dudu:s penalty. Romeu Souto was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Rony Dudu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rony Dudu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Qu Wei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Proteu's supporters rose to their feet, but Qu Wei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeu Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jardel Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fernando Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. A hard shot by Armando Piacentini from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Romeu Souto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Romeu Souto made an important save on a dangerous shot by 毛明昆 in the 30th minute. Corinthians's Romeu Souto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qu Wei in the 33rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rony Dudu in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeu Souto saved Corinthians from getting behind. After 42 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Marquez. In the 43rd minute of the match Gernando Nunes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romeu Souto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Emílio Marquez's late challenge caught a Proteu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emílio Marquez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, Qu Wei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Proteu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Rony Dudu dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.
