Oleg Timofeev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Campidelis in the 3rd minute of play. Jano Cavalcante could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Júlio Porto made a huge save. Clóvis Paraense received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Júlio Porto came out and tried to block the shot, but Clóvis Paraense slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. Leandro Brito might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio Porto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leandro Brito ran back to his position shaking his head. Oleg Timofeev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Campidelis in the 15th minute of play. Arthur Trigo charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arthur Trigo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Montevideo's Arthur Trigo got a free kick in the 17th minute. Leandro Brito got in the 20th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Júlio Porto handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 21st minute Luís Gustavo Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oleg Timofeev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clóvis Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Porto was a little too slow when Leandro Brito got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Fúria Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Campidelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Montevideo were awarded a corner. Fiori Vasconcelos went to the cornerflag to take it. Montevideo's Fiori Vasconcelos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Júlio Porto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 31 minutes into the game, Montevideo's Arthur Trigo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Júlio Porto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Fúria Futebol Clube's zone, Clóvis Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Porto came out of the goal and Clóvis Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Leandro Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montevideo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leandro Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Clóvis Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Fúria Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdir de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jano Cavalcante to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Clóvis Paraense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montevideo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Frank Campidelis came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Oleg Timofeev could save by the left post. Montevideo's Oleg Timofeev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Montevideo from getting a goal against them. 67 minutes into the match, Fúria Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Brito came free, but Júlio Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 minutes of play, Montevideo's Leandro Brito made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Júlio Porto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Júlio Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jano Cavalcante in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Leandro Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Carvalho in the 77th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Oleg Timofeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Gustavo Carvalho came free, but Oleg Timofeev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fúria Futebol Clube's Júlio Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jano Cavalcante in the 97th minute of play. There was no doubt that Montevideo were the better team. Montevideo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
