In the 9th minute, Betão Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Montevideo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Laerte Paraíba in the 12th minute. Téo Fonseca hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Ronaldão dos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Brito in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Quebra Ossos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliézer Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Montevideo's Laerte Paraíba tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Jano Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 played minutes Montevideo got a freekick which was hit by Arthur Trigo. After 34 minutes, Jano Cavalcante made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Quebra Ossos FC's Ronaldão dos Santos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Arthur Trigo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arthur Trigo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Trigo to maneuver through the defense. Leandro Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão dos Santos having to interfere. Leandro Brito scored 0-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldão dos Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Betão Marinho to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Jano Cavalcante lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Ronaldão dos Santos. In the 56th minute Betão Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oleg Timofeev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sílvio Luís Matorin fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quebra Ossos FC's protests and gave Sílvio Luís Matorin a yellow card for diving instead. Sílvio Luís Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Quebra Ossos FC defense, Jano Cavalcante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronaldão dos Santos. The Quebra Ossos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronaldão dos Santos should have stopped the shot. Jano Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão dos Santos having to interfere. Montevideo's Leandro Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jano Cavalcante in the 77th minute of play forced Quebra Ossos FC's goalkeeper Ronaldão dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jano Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão dos Santos having to interfere. Montevideo's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
