Wilson Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson de Queiroz in the 6th minute of play forced Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Miguel Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Karaboudjan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Natanael Couto was slow to take the kick. During this time Pirajiba's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Natanael Couto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Miguel Baptista quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pirajiba's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Evaristo Tolino scored to the left of an out of position Basílio Cosme, making the score, 1-0. In the 17th minute, Karaboudjan's Aírton Oliveira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Basílio Cosme. Basílio Cosme yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. A collision led to Karaboudjan getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Wilson Bezerra hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, Pirajiba's goalkeeper Basílio Cosme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filomeno Nicholas. Evaristo Tolino might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basílio Cosme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evaristo Tolino ran back to his position shaking his head. Basílio Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santiago Starnes, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filomeno Nicholas got free with Basílio Cosme in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Karaboudjan booed when Pirajiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfredo Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelson de Queiroz to make the kick off. Almir da Fonseca hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. If Santiago Starnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléberson Gomes hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Evaristo Tolino took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basílio Cosme. Basílio Cosme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 64 played minutes Pirajiba got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Cearense. Basílio Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizão Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Cosme having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Pirajiba's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Starnes came free, but Basílio Cosme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Tolino in the 83rd minute of play forced Pirajiba's goalkeeper Basílio Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaristo Tolino's late challenge caught a Pirajiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evaristo Tolino helped the player get up and apologised. Basílio Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Tolino in the 87th minute of the match. After 89 minutes of play, Karaboudjan's Evaristo Tolino made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Basílio Cosme was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 93 played minutes Pirajiba got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Cearense. Cristian Prado's late challenge caught a Karaboudjan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Prado helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Karaboudjan booed when Pirajiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Prado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Pirajiba defense, Filomeno Nicholas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basílio Cosme. The Pirajiba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basílio Cosme should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Karaboudjan fully deserved thier win.
