Pirajiba's Rodriguinho Alvarenga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Nilton Sena, made in the 6th minute of the game. Pedrão Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Chester Bennington's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson de Queiroz came free, but Juvenal Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pirajiba's Natanael Couto got a free kick in the 14th minute. Basílio Cosme was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Nestor Vinhas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nestor Vinhas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. With 33 minutes on the clock, Valdemar Barral commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 33 played minutes Chester Bennington got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Barral.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nelson de Queiroz to strike the kick off in the second half. Walmir Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Basílio Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute Sydney Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Pirajiba booed when Chester Bennington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmir Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Vides in the 75th minute of play forced Pirajiba's goalkeeper Basílio Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Cosme having to interfere. When Chester Bennington's Reinaldo Bueno in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. There was no doubt that Chester Bennington were the better team. Chester Bennington's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
