The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Guilherme Mendonça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tiago Gabriel Arósio went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Tiago Gabriel Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Guilherme Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Oséias Sergipano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guto Martins was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves Tiago Gabriel Arósio could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Guilherme Mendonça however easily saved by the left post. Nelsinho Trevisan lost his temper 41 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 41st minute, one of Aguinhas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Aguinhas. The referee gave FC St. Pauli a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dário Schmidt, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Aguinhas's Guto Martins. 1-3. The Aguinhas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC St. Pauli were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Régis Coutinho to strike the kick off in the second half. Guilherme Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Gabriel Arósio in the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, Aguinhas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlindo Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Guilherme Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitório Lago in the 64th minute of play. Régis Coutinho helped the player get up and apologised. Régis Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Eduardo Moreno scored 1-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guto Martins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Aguinhas fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC St. Pauli were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
