Afonsinho Goiano started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, SinháCity FC's Afonsinho Goiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cido da Rocha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dário da Cunha got free with Nico Queirós in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Matungo Gaúcho's Dário da Cunha got a free kick in the 8th minute. Cido da Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonsinho Goiano in the 10th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Matungo Gaúcho's goal looked a bit too open when Nando Baptista came free, but Cido da Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Afonsinho Goiano came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the SinháCity FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonsinho Goiano couldn't finish the play. Afonsinho Goiano succeeded in the game's 14th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. 19 minutes into the match, Afonsinho Goiano notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Matungo Gaúcho's Cido da Rocha. Cido da Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 23 minutes, Afonsinho Goiano made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Matungo Gaúcho's Cido da Rocha tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Afonsinho Goiano notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Matungo Gaúcho's Cido da Rocha. Cido da Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, SinháCity FC's Aníbal Tinoco got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Luiz Fábio de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 32 in the game by Miguel de Andrade from a close distance when the talented Nico Queirós managed to make a qualified save. SinháCity FC's players were relieved. Matungo Gaúcho were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after SinháCity FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dário da Cunha took the corner. Nestor Silva took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cido da Rocha. Cido da Rocha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Miguel de Andrade scored 1-6 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nico Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Fábio de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Dário da Cunha sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Nico Queirós threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Dário da Cunha this time. Cido da Rocha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nando Baptista went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-7 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-7.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guga Souza made a kick off. Cido da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Tinoco in the 53rd minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Afonsinho Goiano lined in a short shot 1-8 behind a frustrated Cido da Rocha. 60 minutes into the match, Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper Cido da Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nando Baptista. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Silva in the 64th minute of play forced Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper Cido da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Mané Guedes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cido da Rocha, 1-10. 72 minutes into the match, Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper Cido da Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nestor Silva. After a rather tough play, Matungo Gaúcho's Toninho Vale got a free kick in the 74th minute. Isaltino Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Cido da Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonsinho Goiano in the 78th minute of the match. Cido da Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonsinho Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matungo Gaúcho's Cido da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Goiano in the 87th minute of play. Tião Neves's late challenge caught a SinháCity FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tião Neves helped the player get up and apologised. After 88 played minutes Matungo Gaúcho got a freekick which was hit by Tião Neves. Cido da Rocha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Silva in the 91st minute. After some careless play in the Matungo Gaúcho defense, Nestor Silva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cido da Rocha. The Matungo Gaúcho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cido da Rocha should have stopped the shot. SinháCity FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
