In the 36th minute, Alexsandro Britto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vitor José. The goal made the score 2-0. Juan Sorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Saldanha having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexsandro Britto was the one to do the kick off. S.E.R. In the 77thth minute of the game Carlos Alberto Viana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Carlos Alberto Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Alberto Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonas Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out.
