The supporters of MarquinhosEC booed when Papunhas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurinho Prestes hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the match, Papunhas EC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fabiano da Cunha came free, but Lauro Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lauro Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Maurinho Prestes scored 1-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luan Nogueira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lauro Secco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorian Prado went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Lauro Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorian Prado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Papunhas EC's Richard Madureira got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 34 minutes of play, MarquinhosEC's Dorian Prado made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lauro Secco was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, MarquinhosEC's Reynaldo Souto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lauro Secco. Lauro Secco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. With 56 minutes on the clock, Richard Madureira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, Papunhas EC's Richard Madureira got a free kick in the 57th minute. Rubinho Valle, 58 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 62nd minute, Elano Xavier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When David Furtado came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Papunhas EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Furtado couldn't finish the play. Lauro Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano da Cunha in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim da Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Lauro Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Loyola during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to MarquinhosEC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Alfredo Loyola hit a great ball. Reynaldo Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Lauro Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over MarquinhosEC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Papunhas EC throughout the match.
