The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leonel Sanches could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Paulão Esteves made a huge save. 5 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Benedito de Sousa came free, but Diamantino Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's goalkeeper Paulão Esteves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Luís Martins. Dr Lecter SC's Paulão Esteves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Dr Lecter SC from getting a goal against them. Diogo Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Diamantino Senna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Futbol Club RRFV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dr Lecter SC the free kick. Diamantino Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeca de Lara in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's goal looked a bit too open when André Luís Martins came free, but Paulão Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diamantino Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeca de Lara in the 31st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Futbol Club RRFV defense, Benedito de Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diamantino Senna. The Futbol Club RRFV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diamantino Senna should have stopped the shot. Paulão Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Benedito de Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Benedito de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dr Lecter SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedito de Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diamantino Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Alberto de Sousa to strike the kick off in the second half. Zeca de Lara's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Diamantino Senna firmly grabbed it by the left post. Dr Lecter SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adilson Amorim in the 53rd minute. Adilson Amorim made a great header on Dr Lecter SC's corner, it was just that Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna managed to reach the ball for a save. Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Amorim in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeca de Lara in the 58th minute of play forced Futbol Club RRFV's goalkeeper Diamantino Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Tomé Martins got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paulão Esteves quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 64th minute of play forced Dr Lecter SC's goalkeeper Paulão Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Benedito de Sousa took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Diamantino Senna to make any attempt to save it. Diamantino Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diamantino Senna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeca de Lara in the 74th minute. After a rather tough play, Dr Lecter SC's Benedito de Sousa got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 79thth minute of the game Zeca de Lara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Dr Lecter SC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Adalberto Pirani hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Tomé Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Futbol Club RRFV's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomé Martins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Esteves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diamantino Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 84 minutes into the game, Benedito de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Diamantino Senna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. During the 91st minute of the match Diamantino Senna completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Diamantino Senna a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Dr Lecter SC booed when Futbol Club RRFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of Dr Lecter SC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Futbol Club RRFV side.
