The corner led Dr Lecter SC's Adilson Amorim to fire away a dangerous shot which Sandrinho Sabóia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Zeca de Laras short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Sandrinho Sabóia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sandrinho Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito de Sousa in the 8th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Dr Lecter SC's Sandrinho Sabóia threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benedito de Sousa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 22nd minute, Ademar Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 25 in the game by Zeca de Lara from a close distance when the talented Sandrinho Sabóia managed to make a qualified save. AF CERRADO's players were relieved. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Kaká Goiano sped through Dr Lecter SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulão Esteves. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Damião in the 38th minute of play forced Dr Lecter SC's goalkeeper Paulão Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Benedito de Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Dr Lecter SC's Delfim Barbosa got a free kick in the 46th minute. Paulão Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remo Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benedito de Sousa made a kick off. A hard shot by Nestor Cordeiro from long distance, 55 minutes into the match, got Paulão Esteves's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Benedito de Sousa hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Dr Lecter SC's Paulão Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thiago Damião in the 68th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Paulão Esteves successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sandrinho Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a rather tough play, Dr Lecter SC's Tomé do Nascimento got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 82ndth minute of the game Kaká Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dr Lecter SC's Paulão Esteves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 90 minutes, Diogo Vidal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dr Lecter SC and the AF CERRADO players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Kaká Goiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 95 played minutes AF CERRADO got a freekick which was hit by Kaká Goiano. The supporters of AF CERRADO booed when Dr Lecter SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball.
