Diamantino Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kaká Goiano went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Carlos Alberto de Sousa's late challenge caught a AF CERRADO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Alberto de Sousa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Futbol Club RRFV's Carlos Alberto de Sousa got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute, Kaká Goiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute Carlos Alberto de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AF CERRADO's Sandrinho Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Rocha in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Sanches in the 16th minute of play forced AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Sandrinho Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 played minutes Futbol Club RRFV got a freekick which was hit by Dorival do Vale. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Futbol Club RRFV's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nestor Cordeiro was slow to take the kick. During this time AF CERRADO's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Nestor Cordeiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Diamantino Senna quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Futbol Club RRFV booed when AF CERRADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Tomé Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Futbol Club RRFV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomé Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, AF CERRADO's Diamantino Senna threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kaká Goiano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Kaká Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Senna having to interfere. Diamantino Senna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thiago Damião in the 32nd minute. Nestor Cordeiro made a great header on AF CERRADO's corner, it was just that Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 41st minute Leonel Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Thiago Damião came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the AF CERRADO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thiago Damião couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Noel Pombal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Futbol Club RRFV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Alberto de Sousa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jefferson Aparecido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Kaká Goiano hit a great ball. In the 59th match minute, AF CERRADO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armandinho de Salles to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Damião in the 75th minute of play forced Futbol Club RRFV's goalkeeper Diamantino Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kaká Goiano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diamantino Senna having to make a save. Diamantino Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thiago Damião in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79thth minute of the game Thiago Damião who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diamantino Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Schmidt in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, AF CERRADO's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto de Sousa came free, but Sandrinho Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 88 minutes, Noel Pombal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Futbol Club RRFV and the AF CERRADO players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 88 played minutes Futbol Club RRFV got a freekick which was hit by Noel Pombal. Diamantino Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Damião in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Kaká Goiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandrinho Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Futbol Club RRFV players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AF CERRADO.
