Gonçalo de Amorim came out of the goal and Álvaro Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlindo Luz in the 9th minute of play forced America Futebol Clube SP's goalkeeper Gonçalo de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Álvaro Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Nilton Sanches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Renatinho de Castro hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. A collision led to America Futebol Clube SP getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Paulão Berger hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renatinho de Castro in the 85th minute of play forced Grêmio Prudente's goalkeeper Thiago Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the match, America Futebol Clube SP's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Valle came free, but Gonçalo de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led Grêmio Prudente's Zé Peres to fire away a dangerous shot which Gonçalo de Amorim despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, America Futebol Clube SP's Gonçalo de Amorim got control of the ball when Álvaro Travassos tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Grêmio Prudente left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than America Futebol Clube SP.
