The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice moves Jan-Ove Gustavsson could shoot a difficult shot in the 2nd minute, which Wágner Ribeiro however easily saved by the left post. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Buritama Sports's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bob Dinamite was slow to take the kick. During this time Misericordia EC's players had a chance to rest. Bob Dinamite made a great header on Misericordia EC's corner, it was just that Buritama Sports's Edmundo de Toledo managed to reach the ball for a save. 7 minutes into the match, Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Wágner Ribeiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan-Ove Gustavsson. Edmundo de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bob Maravilha in the 12th minute of the match. Misericordia EC were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Buritama Sports's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bob Dinamite took the corner. Wágner Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 孔翔沙, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 19thth minute of the game Bob Maravilha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buritama Sports's Edmundo de Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 20 played minutes Buritama Sports got a freekick which was hit by 孔翔沙. Buritama Sports's Edmundo de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Maravilha in the 21st minute of play. Edmundo de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Chute in the 22nd minute of play. After 27 played minutes Misericordia EC got a freekick which was hit by Valério Peres. Wágner Ribeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan-Ove Gustavsson went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Alessandro Félix struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Wágner Ribeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buritama Sports. An unexpectedly hard shot by 孔翔沙 in the 35th minute of play forced Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Wágner Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Buritama Sports got a freekick which was hit by 孔翔沙. A collision led to Misericordia EC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Bob Dinamite hit a great ball. Jan-Ove Gustavsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 40th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wágner Ribeiro could save by the left post. In the 42nd minute Buritama Sports were awarded a corner. Umberto Furlan went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Umberto Furlan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wágner Ribeiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan-Ove Gustavsson was the one to do the kick off. Jan-Ove Gustavsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bob Chute in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edmundo de Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wágner Ribeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Ove Gustavsson in the 84th minute of the match. Buritama Sports's Edmundo de Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Buritama Sports from getting a goal against them. Misericordia EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
