The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Mendonça got free with Fernandão Penha in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by Castanheiro SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kauan Salgado was slow to take the kick. During this time Lobo Guará's players had a chance to rest. Paulo Renato Arce's late challenge caught a Castanheiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Renato Arce helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th minute, Paulo Renato Arce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Trancoso in the 7th minute of play forced Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Vânderson Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 9 minutes of play, Castanheiro SC's José Maria Quadros made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vânderson Esteves was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Monsalve got free with Fernandão Penha in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Fernandão Penha managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Lobo Guará's Gustavo Mendonça fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gustavo Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandão Penha having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Fernandão Penha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Monsalve. When Célio Vianna fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castanheiro SC's protests and gave Célio Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Célio Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernandão Penha made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Miguel Monsalve sent off a good shot on target. Gustavo Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Fernandão Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Túlio Aparecido hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 51st minute Gustavo Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandão Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Cristian Salles fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Vânderson Esteves, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Lobo Guará booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Túlio Aparecido didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Kauan Salgado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernandão Penha was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Gustavo Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernandão Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Monsalve in the 68th minute of the match. Vânderson Esteves made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when José Maria Quadros sent off a good shot on target. Vânderson Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Quadros in the 75th minute of play. In the 82nd minute of the match, Cristian Salles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vânderson Esteves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vânderson Esteves was a little too slow when Leonardo Trancoso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 2-2. Lobo Guará's Albertinho Leite was substituted for Gustavo Nunes. Cristian Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vânderson Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kauan Salgado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fernandão Penha. Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Castanheiro SC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Lobo Guará from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
