Iuri Siqueira kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper Diamantino Magalhães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iuri Siqueira. Diamantino Magalhães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauro Luz's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Bernd Goldsche's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Paraibano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Bernd Goldsche had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Paraibano. FÊNIX F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernd Goldsche was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Genílson França came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Academia Militar MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genílson França couldn't finish the play. After 41 minutes FÊNIX F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Genílson França who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Academia Militar MZ's Genílson França to fire away a dangerous shot which Alfredo Paraibano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mauro Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernd Goldsche was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes, Kaká Mattos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FÊNIX F.C. and the Academia Militar MZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diamantino Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Genílson França hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 68thth minute of the game Mauro Luz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academia Militar MZ's Diamantino Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper Diamantino Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 74th match minute, Academia Militar MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Mauro Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. FÊNIX F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
