Vítor Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Jarbas Brito got a free kick in the 6th minute. Mané Quirino made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Duarte Trevisan sent off a good shot on target. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Goiano in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Paulão Pombal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mané Quirino. The goal made the score 1-0. Adelino Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilmar Secco in the 17th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Goiás Esporte Clube defense, Paulão Pombal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mané Quirino. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mané Quirino should have stopped the shot. Rafa Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafa Pinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Pinho to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute of the match Cafu Paraíba shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mané Quirino showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mané Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Goiano in the 40th minute of play. After 41 played minutes Triforce Super Soccer got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Carioca. 47 minutes into the match, Edgard Cabral notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Triforce Super Soccer's Adelino Freire. Adelino Freire was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgard Cabral made a kick off. In the 55th minute Duarte Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mané Quirino came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Triforce Super Soccer's Rodrigo Goiano. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Goiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osmar de Moraes during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Osmar de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Goiano in the 69th minute of the match. A collision led to Triforce Super Soccer getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Cafu Paraíba hit a great ball.
