Torino SSA's Pedrão Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enéas Leite in the 2nd minute of play. In the 7th minute of the match, Noureddine Seret tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Robinho de Salles saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pedrão Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enéas Leite in the 11th minute of play. Robinho de Salles made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Bernardinho Aguiar sent off a good shot on target. 21 minutes into the match, Nova Venécia-ES's goalkeeper Robinho de Salles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Luiz da Costa. After 24 minutes, Dino Tavares made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Torino SSA's Pedrão Furlan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 28 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Sanches mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Venécia-ES and the Torino SSA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Torino SSA booed when Nova Venécia-ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Eduardo Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Luiz da Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Robinho de Salles made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dino Tavares to make the kick off. Carlos Eduardo Sanches struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Pedrão Furlan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova Venécia-ES. The crowd rose to their feet as Nova Venécia-ES's Dino Tavares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedrão Furlan. That made the score 1-2 after 53 minutes of play. In the 62nd match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Eduardo Sanches to maneuver through the defense. Robinho de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Víktor Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
