The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Leonides Gartxot had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Saturnino Txartiko. Academia Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonides Gartxot was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Saturnino Txartiko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Gartxot in the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Firmat Foot Ball Club booed when Academia Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remigio Jerano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Leonides Gartxot ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Saturnino Txartiko was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Isidoro Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Phelipe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gonzalo Calcini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32ndth minute of the game Leonides Gartxot who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academia Club's Saturnino Txartiko was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 33 minutes Academia Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Israel Porfiro who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Academia Club's goalie and right to German Seme. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Academia Club's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Saturnino Txartiko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Hanni in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Gonzalo Calcini notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Academia Club's Saturnino Txartiko. Saturnino Txartiko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Leonel Eutropio fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Club's protests and gave Leonel Eutropio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Firmat Foot Ball Club booed when Academia Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Eutropio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Rosendo Luar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Firmat Foot Ball Club's zone, Joaquin Phelipe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidoro Vitin came out of the goal and Joaquin Phelipe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Remigio Jerano was the one to do the kick off. If Joaquin Phelipe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the match, Academia Club's goal looked a bit too open when Leonides Gartxot came free, but Saturnino Txartiko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute of the match Firmat Foot Ball Club got a corner. Academia Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Israel Porfiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a little luck, Academia Club's Saturnino Txartiko got control of the ball when Raimundo Hanni tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Club's goalkeeper Saturnino Txartiko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute of the match Firmat Foot Ball Club got a corner. Academia Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Israel Porfiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Remigio Jerano kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Saturnino Txartiko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Calcini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gonzalo Calcini received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Saturnino Txartiko came out and tried to block the shot, but Gonzalo Calcini slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 80th minute. Joaquin Phelipe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Isidoro Vitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Academia Club's Remigio Jerano in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. During the 95th minute of the match Leonel Eutropio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Leonel Eutropio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Firmat Foot Ball Club's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
