In the 3rd minute Vladimiro Ondino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltasar Valiente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Rogelio Luzea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vladimiro Ondino came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Maravilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimiro Ondino couldn't finish the play. After having played for 15 minutes, Vladimiro Ondino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maravilla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimiro Ondino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Atlético Montserrat getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Cesar Ted hit a great ball. If Isaias Gurutz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the game, Vladimiro Ondino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maravilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Montserrat the free kick. Vladimiro Ondino kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Baltasar Valiente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimiro Ondino in the 26th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Vladimiro Ondino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the game, Maravilla's Vladimiro Ondino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baltasar Valiente made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 36th minute Isaias Gurutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herminio Iyan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 38th minute of the match Vladimiro Ondino completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Vladimiro Ondino a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 61st minute, when Maravilla's Angel Vasco after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Baltasar Valiente in Atlético Montserrat's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Herminio Iyan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaias Gurutz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Atlético Montserrat booed when Maravilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Sal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the game, Isaias Gurutz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Herminio Iyan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aaron Sal struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Baltasar Valiente didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maravilla. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Atlético Montserrat fully deserved thier win.
