Celedonio Peruxu made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Ceferino Cresconio sent off a good shot on target. 9 minutes into the match, Ceferino Cresconio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celedonio Peruxu. San Martin de Tucuman's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ceferino Cresconio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Celedonio Peruxu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jairo Dantel went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. San Martin de Tucuman's Celedonio Peruxu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save San Martin de Tucuman from getting a goal against them. Ceferino Cresconio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Celedonio Peruxu made a huge save. After some careless play in the Kenya defense, Flavio Blai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kacper Tobias. The Kenya fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kacper Tobias should have stopped the shot. In the 26th minute, Ceferino Cresconio made a precise shot to the right of Celedonio Peruxu. San Martin de Tucuman's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ceferino Cresconio got free with Celedonio Peruxu in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Marco Gimenez fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Martin de Tucuman's protests and gave Marco Gimenez a yellow card for diving instead. Marco Gimenez kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in San Martin de Tucuman's zone, Ceferino Cresconio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celedonio Peruxu came out of the goal and Ceferino Cresconio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Celedonio Peruxu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ceferino Cresconio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celedonio Peruxu having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Dantel in the 52nd minute of play forced San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Celedonio Peruxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Gimenez was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Kenya booed when San Martin de Tucuman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Gimenez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ceferino Cresconio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ceferino Cresconio hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Jairo Dantel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kenya's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairo Dantel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celedonio Peruxu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celedonio Peruxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Cresconio, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Alekos Rallis charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alekos Rallis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The tension between the San Martin de Tucuman and the Kenya players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute Ceferino Cresconio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Peruxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
