But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregorio Atarrabi couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute, Wilfredo Figueroa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A. Calamuchita fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Gregorio Atarrabi kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After 13 minutes of play, C.A. Calamuchita's Braulio Berbiz made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Celedonio Peruxu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Baltasar Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 20th match minute, C.A. Calamuchita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristo Gotzon to maneuver through the defense. Carolo Presebal scored 0-3 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celedonio Peruxu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alejandro Emesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Blai, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Celedonio Peruxu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Marco Gimenez got a free kick in the 45th minute. After recieving a nice pass, C.A. Calamuchita's Eliseo Iaki tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Cristo Gotzon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celedonio Peruxu having to make a save. Celedonio Peruxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristo Gotzon in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flavio Blai stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Celedonio Peruxu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to San Martin de Tucuman getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Zé Meirelles hit a great ball. In the 54th match minute, San Martin de Tucuman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Blai to maneuver through the defense. After 64 minutes of play, San Martin de Tucuman's Leo Paskal made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alejandro Emesto was left in no man's land by his defense there! 1-5 became the score in the 66th minute when Carolo Presebal elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. San Martin de Tucuman's Maximo Arotza was substituted for Gregorio Atarrabi. After 78 played minutes San Martin de Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Zé Meirelles. C.A. Calamuchita's Eliseo Iaki got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristo Gotzon kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. C.A. Calamuchita's Alejandro Emesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas Oxarra in the 82nd minute of play. In the 85th minute Braulio Berbiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Peruxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 played minutes C.A. Calamuchita got a freekick which was hit by Cristo Gotzon. In the 92nd minute, Braulio Berbiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Carolo Presebal fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. Calamuchita's protests and gave Carolo Presebal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Carolo Presebal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The San Martin de Tucuman supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching C.A. Calamuchita's performance. The match ended with a win for C.A. Calamuchita.
