Francisco Poz started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC defense, Benicio Danel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abel Medardo. The Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abel Medardo should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Pierres in the 16th minute of play forced Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC's goalkeeper Abel Medardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Medardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Danel, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Lizer in the 40th minute of play forced Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC's goalkeeper Abel Medardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC. The referee gave Velez Sarsfield a penalty, 78 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Isaac Marcones, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC's Abel Medardo. 0-5. Francisco Tximitx hit a great ball. Benicio Danel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abel Medardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Caitano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Velez Sarsfield's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
