Spectators: 145 (Terracing: 110, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Mingo Torrente made the kick off which started today's match. If Nestor Tabb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in BAIRES's zone, Mingo Torrente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Gaskon came out of the goal and Mingo Torrente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cipriano Mergildo charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cipriano Mergildo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to BAIRES getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Fabricio Benino hit a great ball. Anacleto Clementi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leo Gaskon having to make a save. Maximino Martino hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Mingo Torrente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leo Gaskon having to make a save. 31 minutes into the game, Nestor Tabb recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leo Gaskon. Nestor Tabb showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Alberto Dominic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Bartuelo having to interfere. Newells Old Boys's Nestor Tabb got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Braulio Olo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to BAIRES getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Marcelino Bastian hit a great ball. After 54 played minutes, Newells Old Boys's Cesar Cordairo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leo Gaskon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Newells Old Boys reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anacleto Clementi during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 56 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Anacleto Clementi. Marcos Domeka's late challenge caught a Newells Old Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcos Domeka helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd minute, Marcos Domeka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Mingo Torrente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leo Gaskon. BAIRES's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mingo Torrente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After some careless play in the BAIRES defense, Mingo Torrente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leo Gaskon. The BAIRES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leo Gaskon should have stopped the shot. Nestor Tabb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, BAIRES's Marcelino Bastian got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by BAIRES's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mingo Torrente was slow to take the kick. During this time Newells Old Boys's players had a chance to rest. Leo Gaskon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anacleto Clementi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute Mingo Torrente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Gaskon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nestor Tabb might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leo Gaskon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nestor Tabb ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Mingo Torrente got a free kick in the 95th minute.
