The Gladiadores fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zacarias Pero should have stopped the shot. Ascacibar-Pérez were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Gladiadores's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Osvaldo Ihazintu took the corner. 65 minutes into the game, Gladiadores's Claudio Iturri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luciano Estebano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 74 minutes into the match, Gladiadores's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Vela came free, but Zacarias Pero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
