EL CORTO FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a rather tough play, EL CORTO FC's Arnaldo Gaizko got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Eloy Atarrabi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Fausto Abadia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Eloy Atarrabi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Abadia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Club Atletico Los Andes were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eloy Atarrabi made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Los Andes's Alvaro Rameriz got a free kick in the 52nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eloy Bizen in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Garaona saved Club Atletico Los Andes from getting behind. After 61 minutes, Teodosio Guillen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atletico Los Andes and the EL CORTO FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teobaldo Lamberto during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
