After 4 minutes of play, Yalapa's Luciano Salvino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benicio Gaitan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zacarias Bento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aquilino Cortez hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Luciano Salvino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 21st minute, Pedro Urbasa made a precise shot to the right of Benicio Gaitan. Catarinense F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The supporters of Catarinense F.C. booed when Yalapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Urbes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Zacarias Bento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantino Elija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zacarias Bento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Constantino Elija tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benicio Gaitan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Atauri in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Yalapa getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Luciano Salvino hit a great ball. In the 40th minute, Catarinense F.C.'s Zacarias Bento dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. 47 minutes into the match, Catarinense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Urbasa came free, but Benicio Gaitan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godfredo Gabon to make the kick off. Aquilino Cortez hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 56th match minute, Yalapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Atauri to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute of the match Baldomiro Henry sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Constantino Elija skillfully saved the ball. In the 60th minute, Pedro Urbasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Catarinense F.C.'s Godfredo Gabon got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute, Luisito Atauri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Constantino Elija took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zacarias Bento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisito Atauri might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benicio Gaitan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luisito Atauri ran back to his position shaking his head. Luisito Atauri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Benicio Gaitan made a huge save. Constantino Elija showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godfredo Gabon in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Alejandro Perutxo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisito Atauri took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benicio Gaitan. Catarinense F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 80th minute, Godfredo Gabon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catarinense F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Benicio Gaitan made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Pedro Urbasa sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Catarinense F.C.'s Benicio Gaitan got control of the ball when Luciano Salvino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Catarinense F.C. succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Yalapa had controlled the match.
