Patricio Gartxot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Pirmin in the 8th minute of the match. Atlético Nacional's Wilfredo Berriotxoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Claude in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute Everardo Johans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Gartxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernan Olayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Berriotxoa having to interfere. The supporters of Tama booed when Atlético Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celestino Rudolfo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Gartxot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Rudolfo, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Everardo Johans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Gartxot having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Wilfredo Berriotxoa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manuel Enol. Manuel Enol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Senen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Wilfredo Berriotxoa made a huge save. If Valentin Senen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Atlético Nacional's Wilfredo Berriotxoa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Nacional from getting a goal against them. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonardo Claude made a kick off. After 53 minutes, Gerardo Pirmin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Nacional and the Tama players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Atlético Nacional's Gerardo Pirmin got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valentin Senen in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilfredo Berriotxoa saved Atlético Nacional from getting behind. Leonardo Claude hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Patricio Gartxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Johans in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute Leonardo Claude shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfredo Berriotxoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tama made a substitution. Maximo Bizen replaced Benigno Frans. Wilfredo Berriotxoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Claude, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Gartxot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Everardo Johans, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 82 minutes, Celestino Rudolfo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Nacional and the Tama players grew even worse after the yellow card.
