In the 35th minute, Ambrosio Bernat left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ACF Fiorentina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Zacarias Leoiar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angel Cristofol went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The referee gave Victor Aurre a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Guillermo Padro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jimeno Aimar's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Eleuterio Paulin hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded.
