Maximino Constancio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Club Deportivo Álvarez booed when Santa Maradona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celedonio Tab didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavio Txurio in the 15th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Álvarez's goalkeeper Maximino Constancio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Saverio Elivareo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Rosenlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillermo Manilan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tor Rosenlund came out and tried to block the shot, but Guillermo Manilan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 20th minute. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Maximino Constancio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Santana in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Álvarez's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Santana came free, but Maximino Constancio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maximino Constancio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Santana in the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Santa Maradona's Arturo Abaurre got a free kick in the 31st minute. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Maximino Constancio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Santana in the 34th minute of play. Maximino Constancio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cecilio Ubarna, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. When Cecilio Ubarna fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santa Maradona's protests and gave Cecilio Ubarna a yellow card for diving instead. Cecilio Ubarna kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 46 played minutes Club Deportivo Álvarez got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Peio. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Luis Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santa Maradona's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximino Constancio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luis Santana to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Luis Santana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Maximino Constancio. Luis Santana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Octavio Txurio took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maximino Constancio. Maximino Constancio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. 60 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Álvarez's goal looked a bit too open when Cecilio Ubarna came free, but Maximino Constancio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tor Rosenlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saverio Elivareo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximino Constancio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Ubarna in the 65th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Oihan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportivo Álvarez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Maradona the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Álvarez's zone, Cecilio Ubarna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximino Constancio came out of the goal and Cecilio Ubarna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maximino Constancio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavio Txurio in the 72nd minute of play. Luis Santana's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Maximino Constancio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 74 played minutes Santa Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Ubarna. In the 75th minute of the match Victorino Gonchan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tor Rosenlund showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Epifanio Silviano fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportivo Álvarez's protests and gave Epifanio Silviano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, Club Deportivo Álvarez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Epifanio Silviano to maneuver through the defense. Tor Rosenlund came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Deportivo Álvarez's Saverio Elivareo. But to his dismay, Saverio Elivareo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. After 89 played minutes Club Deportivo Álvarez got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Peio. Victorino Gonchan kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Maximino Constancio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luis Santana in the 97th minute. Santa Maradona's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
