In the 14th minute Primitivo Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeronimo Mon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeronimo Mon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candido Eneas in the 18th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Cornelio Oskitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Severino Herena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Caponi, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 45th minute Leonel Caponi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Herena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Club Atlético Escocia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Nahas to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Facundo Nahas to make the kick off. The shot was a little too simple and Jeronimo Mon could save by the left post. After some careless play in the Independiente defense, Marcos Beturian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Severino Herena. The Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Severino Herena should have stopped the shot. The Club Atlético Escocia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Independiente's performance. The match ended with a win for Independiente.
